Another day in the life of..vDUB

So today was the first day back wit the vdub. Haven't worked on her for over a year now. Can't really drive it yet either cus its past registration. So with that I have to get it smogged, so in preparation for the smog test we bought some G2P Guaranteed to Pass fuel injection clean and fuel system cleaner. Hopefully it works. All I need to do now is actually finish the tank of gas in there already so that it can fully run through the system. And with my dad being the way he is, since it is past registration, he won't permit me to drive it. So how the heck am I going to be able to finish that tank of gas by monday? IDK. Anyways it also got a quick wash, thought I was going to be able to get some of the oxidation and rust off but didn't actually have time to get to it. So I'll save some of that for monday.

My friend Marlon actually told me today that he has an obd reader or whatever which I can plug into my jetta's computer and see what could be wrong with the car. Which is good cus right now the car "jerks" when it gets hot. The shop couldn't figure it out, porlly because they didn't drive it around long enough. So SHOP fail.

So far the plans for the jetta goes:
1. fix jerking/odo fix
2. exhaust system (borla)/wheel spacers/fogs
3. window tints/ xm radio install
4. paint/bumper and sides blackening (kiwi shoe dye)
5. coilovers/strut bars
6. projector headlight (make)

Also these are just some random shots I took today and yesterday of the car. And obviously the one for the fuel system cleaner. VROOOOOMMMMMM

Guess who's back!

Yup my project car is back.

Today seems like a
blogging/photo day. So its been a while since I've had the car and well now I need to get this thing up and running for sure. I really need a car of my own because my parent's cars have been falling apart left and right and now we have 2 fully operational cars. Great. Anyways these are just a few pictures I took. Another thing is that I have been getting into Lightroom. It's pretty cool and I've been getting the hang of things. So yeah FUN.

3Gs

Oh da Sltz.. 3g s

Man. There's a lot of talk for this one. But I'll comment about it after work. I'll just leave you with the picture from Apple.com

Go!

Ok basically once again apple comes out with another iPhone. And as a proud iPhone owner I do want the next one. Yeah what are the differences. Well there is a lot. Basically OS3.0 for the iPhone is the next best thing. But all this talk of video and the new compass which also helps google maps and voice control only come on the 3gs. So basically if you want to use the iPhone 3.0 software to its fullest you need the new phone. Great. Well I've had the first two why not get this one? Well there is also talk about how even previous iPhone owners will not be able to purchase the new one at the starting price of $199 for the 16gb. Unless our 2year agreement is over we have to pay full price for the new phone @ $399(16gb) and $499(32gb) Pretty much that is the only thing stopping me. Would I sell my 3g? Maybe. SIKE I don't sell any of my stuff.

Edit later. Lunch time

New Set-Up

Yes well I haven't blogged here in a while. Thought Tumblr was gna be cool. but for now it doesnt give me what I really want so I'm back here.

As for my new set up, as you may see from my Pic of the moment I got some different parts for my bike. Yes they aren't new and YES I didn't pay a ton of money for them. So I'm happy with what I have for now.
New Stuff:
New Rims I-daughters (similar may not be actual I-d)
New Feetbelts (so far I like them)
New Fork (off a Giant Bowery)
New Nitto RB021 Pursuit Bullhorns
New no name leather seat.(sort of comfortable)

That was my set up on tuesday. Last night I decided to put back my high riser set up, and did some barspins with the 700c, so basically now I don't need the 26" but I do have it so if I ever changed my mind again it will be there for me to use. So yes I barspin 700c's now without having to buy a MTB fork or BMX looking fork. I like the new set up the new ratio. So far it's a fun ratio to tarck with. Was able to wheelie and keo last night. As for the Feetbelts, I had them on wrong last week and on Tuesday I finally gave in to putting them on the proper way. (instructions were confusing) But they feel great, takes some getting used to especially putting them back on and getting out real quick, but other than that they are pretty much a good buy. Yes I bought the green and black ones, IDK why now my pedals look like they are barney or something. On their site they said they had Olive Green, and I've always like olive green so I decided on getting them, now that they are on my bike they look kind of weird. Whatever.

So right now that's my new set-up, as well as tumblr OH and I haven't posted in a while because I didn't have internet in my new apartment for the longest time so now I do have internet, and I am in my new apartment which I enjoy a lot.

Until next time, maybe I'll actually want to comment on my new apartment.

It's the succ

Yeah so haven't blogged at since last weekend cus i moved into my apartment. Besides the fact that we couldn't get the damn DirectTV and my extra 150 from costco. I had to switch to ATT HomeEntertainment/Dish Network. Honestly not that great. We could be paying a lot just for a little bit of channels. Pretty much sucks balls. But whatever, we'll see how we like it after the first month or so. Another thing is that we weren't able to get our damn phone or dsl set up until next week. Because the previous tenants didn't do their part in canceling their service and pushed ours back. So I'm pretty much ticked off.

As I said besides that. My apartment is fun. I'll keep you updated. This weekend is going to be a long one. Booked on gigs sat and sunday/work sunday monday. Back to sj to chill. then thursday I have jury duty good luck for me. Until then LAter

Star Trek

All I have to say, is WATCH IT. I saw it the day before it came out in IMAX. Yeah I got the special screening. We got there maybe 2-2.5 hours early and still sat in the first 5 rows. It was only because they had tons of rows reserved for the press. But whatever, I saw it for free and another thing I saw it in IMAX. Imagine that. Have fun, watch it, be there. Like all the reviews "It's this years IRONMAN" That good. Get there

TV's

I don't really know.  But the prices of TV's have gone up and down lately. Went down during xmas, cus of the digital conversion but the economy was so bad no one wanted to take the risk of buying it. So most stores had a surplus of TV's. Another thing is that there are soo many no name band TV's. I get it. I mean SONY is starting to get cheap, only because they are starting to outsource their TV's. The real deal now is the Samsung, LCD LED tv's clean. My uncle from the PI just got one last week, my dad shipped it on monday. Oh did I mention it was 55". Yeah A LOT.

I'm only mentioning TV's now, cus I've been looking around for a good decent TV for cheap. I'm moving into an apartment at the end of the week and am totally excited. The only thing I need
was the TV. Perfect. So I was looking at Costco. Cus i signed up for DirectTV at costco, and got $50 costco cash rebate for signing up. And when you buy a TV from them, you get a $100 costco cash rebate for that. So total of $150 savings. Not that bad right?

Right so my choices were Sceptre which I heard was bad, Vizio good but getting pricey, and Proscan. Another dilemma I had was the fact that I wanted a 40" and 1080p. And then my dad didn't want me to get a 40" cus I don't even have a TV that big!  OK I guess my dad is competing with me now! HAH. Anyways I actually want the Vizio now, the price went down since the time I ordered my Proscan. CRAP. Plus I wouldn't have to actually ship the Vizio they have it at the store! Yeah. I stuck with the 32" but for now in College I think its better then a 19" TV which I have been having. Woo

Check out my Twatts on my Mac

OK, so here is my comparison of the three / four i used for twitter:

Seesmic (current):

Twhirl (1st):

Tweetie (2nd):

Twitterific (4th):
No picture at the moment.

I believe seesmic has the most features. I like it a lot. I'm actually lazy to continue now. So this is a teaser. HAH

Followin' my Twatts

So once again I changed the layout of my twitter profile. I wasn't to happy with the last one I did, aside from that I had a great idea, which some of you might like. Looks cool right? Check out the full size of it (might get cut off depending on screen resolution), but it's supposed to be an invisible turntable. Just by showing the different parts of the turntable some may be able to recognize it. From the "start/stop" buttons to the "33" or "45" buttons, or even the tempo adjustments. The record itself took a while to make. Trying to evenly spread out the lines of the record. I was actually doing this in the car ride back to san jose. After I got a headache I stopped and completed it later on in the evening. If you are curious to what the record label actually says:

Hopefully this image makes it more visible. But it says:

"DJ JayFree / JLFixed
Fixed Gear Cyclist / DJ / Photographer
Videographer / Love for all things Tech

Spintronix Ent / San Jose Fixed Gear"

I did however make some further changes on the whole layout of the image. I adjusted the tempo controller angled to the start/stop button to visualize an actual turn table. We'll see if I put it up today or not, but it was a drastic change to the layout.
With the changes I have been making I've been practicing with my vectors and such with Illustrator. I am self taught and pretty much getting the hang of it. I did however take classes in High School, but didn't pay much attention to the Illustrator portion of the semester. Anyways here are some more pictures of what I did. A closer look of the Dots I made from the actual turntable to the buttons and such. Enjoy.

So another change that I have made was from Twhirl, to Tweetie, and finally to Seesmic for my twitter desktop client. For all those on twitter, there are a bunch of twitter clients for your computer which help make things a lot smoother on your desktop. I'm not going to do a full on review on the 4 that I have used (tried Twitterific on my NetMac) till later tonight probably But I will post a screen of seesmic which I do really like

I am truly a Sharks fan, and don't get me wrong. I love them. But honestly, THEY SUCK right now. Cmon 1-3, loosing 0-4 to the Ducks. We've beat them before, we can beat them again.

Well anyways, we watched the game at Smoke Eaters today, very upsetting. We'll see how they do on saturday. Go Sharks! Stay in this.

Let's get the show on the road

So once again, I'm going to say that I will honestly try to keep up with updating my blog.

Today:: Was a great day. Kind of sort of. Weather is going down. Wasn't as hot as its been the past few days. As you see it was at the highs of 87 today. Being born and raised in daly city, I enjoyed the weather being 56 - 60, maybe in the high of 70. Anyways today got some errands done, then went to KoolKalmKen's to go swimming. Cus they have a pool you know? To bad it will be our pool too when I move in May. Oh da succ. Anyways Today i was also able to finally finish babe's bike. Looks good. Had to get another bottom bracket but it was used and stripped. So I might buy another one soon. I guess thats all for today. Time to eat my Dulce de leche ice cream and watch me some netflix.

Too many updates to update. So last night was the SF Giants Filipino Heritage Night. Manny Pacquaio was there, and threw the first pitch. Aside from all that Giants did win 8-3 over the Padres win goes to Cain. During the game we did recieve our free Manny bobbleheads.

Easter Blog / Catch up

Ok so here's the deal I will from now on try to keep up with blogging. Seriously. So this pic here with all the cool trussing was from Comcast Sports Net. Cool event we had 6 vertical truss, one arch truss, a whole lot of sound and lighting. Pretty Cool.

Tonight we did a club event at 111 Minna St. in SF today. We had FOG and all the old school lights. We ended up taking the fog out cus we started the fire alarm and pretty much didn't want to risk anything so we just took it out. But I was able to get some cool pictures before we aired out the club.

Back to TODAY

Today me and babe watched Fast and the Furious. Besides the bad CG the story actually made sense (to mee) and was pretty good. After we went to the Pho place in Westlake. Then took Kona below to get her nails cut and get her a new collar. Saw this big white dog, or wolf whatever inside PetsMart HUGE . And I actually saw him pee all over this display but no one else saw it...

Once again I updated my Twitter Profile/Page so no more zeum font zeum everything. If you would like to see the work I did for Zeum go follow them or check them out on Twitter at www.twitter.com/zeum

Here are some pics I took. This picture was taken at Downtown Disney pretty cool pic of Jared.

This picture was taken at Venice Beach with my iPhone. The whole Polaroid pic came from an app which I found through Jared's blog its called Polarize or something rather. Pretty cool effect try it out its FREE at the app store.

That's all for now just a quick update Check it. Happy Easter Everyone

Updated Layout

Hello readers. I would just like to post where I got all the pictures and templates from. I got the whole Blogger Template by googling "free blogger templates", go figure. And found this site... Free Blogger Templates, they have quite a few templates to choose from I probably could have chosen another one from another site, but I will stick to this one for now. As for the header image, I edited that myself using Illustrator, and placed the image from Interfacelift. Here is all the info regarding the picture, and yes it is my background on my computer. Enjoy.

SJF in LA

4.8.009- 20 of us from SJF embarked on a weekend trip down to Southern California to ride around the sites and to watch our San Jose Sharks play the Anaheim Ducks. The weather was absolutely perfect for a weekend full of debauchery. All in all, LA was very good to us. The Sharks won and the Duck’s fans are mad. The weekend went perfectly thanks to SJFam!
So I embarked on a journey to Anaheim, with SJF. The trip was giraffes. I caught up with the lingo, and we created our own. I don't feel like blogging about it right now because I'm lazy but the quote above summarizes it to the max. However I will post some pics taken by members who went on the trip as well as myself.

Review: HipBone vs. HipPouch

So here's the deal. I recently purchased the first ever Hip Pouch from Chrome today. Apparently they just got them in today and I was the first to buy one. Totally like it more compared to the Hip bone.

So this is the Hip Bone, picture courtesy of Chrome Bags in SF. Anyways today I went back into the city for other reasons, and remembered my roommate JR wanting a Chrome Laptop Case. So i went there and got one for him. After looking around and not being able to find the Soyuz I caught the hip pouch. Something I was looking for, for quite some time now. I was willing to buy it from Freight Bags  or whatever they are called; haven't been able to successfully find it. So anyways I got lucky and found it at the Chrome Store. I do love Chrome. I have a messenger, a roll top messenger, and a regular messenger bag. I really needed this hip pouch because the bone really doesn't feel too well while riding. It bounce up and down on my rear especially with my mini u lock inside. My North Face fanny pack is good but TOOO big. Fit everything but looked funny. So I enjoy this latest purchase. go buy one before they run out.

Looks like my messenger bag, just miniature. MiniBag muahahahah
